Courtney, born in May '94
Courtney
is outgoing, creative, and enjoys reading and
writing poetry. She is a self-proclaimed "Tom Boy."
When asked about what type of family she would like to adopt her, she first answered "any family, really." But then she thought for a minute and said she would like a family who is nice and outgoing, with a mom and a dad and maybe some younger brothers or sisters.
Courtney has been waiting for a family for several years. She is working on dealing with her past and is in need of an adoptive family to provide a stable healthy environment that all children deserve. The Waiting Child Fund is working to raise an adoption fund of $10,000 for Courtney.
100% of contributions made to Courtney's fund will be used to help find
her an adoptive family.
Adopting a school-age special needs child is a lengthy process that requires hundreds of hours of work by the adoption agency. The funds raised by the Waiting Child Fund will be used to:
-
Recruit adoptive families
- Provide the family with 25 to 30 hours of specialized training
- Conduct the 3 to 6 month homestudy process
- Facilitate the matching process
- Supervise the placement of the child into the family's home
- Provide ongoing support during the 6 month's before legalization
- Facilitate the legalization
- Provide post-placement services to the family and child
Your
contribution will help to change Courtney's life by making these services
possible.
